Ng Mui Si Tai 五枚師太 – Part 8

Seeing that something was wrong, Ng Mui Si Tai 五枚師太 asked Yìhm Yìh 嚴二 what was wrong.  As Yìhm Yìh had come to know her well he told her the whole story. He said that there was a group of gangsters and the leader of the gangsters came to this area a lot. One day he saw Yìhm Wing Chun 嚴詠春 and decided that he wanted to marry her. Yìhm Yìh Did not want that, he did not want his daughter to marry a gangster besides that, she was already engaged to a merchant, a young man named Lèuhng Bok Chàuh 梁博儔. Of course Yìhm Yìh wanted his daughter to marry someone who would have a good future and not a gangster.

Ng Mui Si Tai thought about it and then said, “Next time they come, you tell them if their leader wants to marry your daughter, he needs to arrange and open competition, so that everybody can see if he can defeat your daughter in a fight and prove he is strong enough to marry her.” Yìhm Yìh was shocked and scared at hearing this. “How can my daughter fight with their leader?  He is strong and powerful!” Ng Mui Si Tai smiled and said, “Do not worry about that. Organise it so that the competition is in 3 months time. By then she will be able to defeat their strong and powerful leader!”
